Environmental and social management

Deliver on your environmental and social commitments, project after project

SIGES brings grievances, risks, resettlement, health and safety and environmental monitoring into a single platform — with native mapping and field data collection that works without a connection.

Built for project implementation units, project owners and their consultants.

Modules

The full safeguards lifecycle, in one place

Each client enables only the modules they need. Licensing is modular; the platform stays coherent.

Grievances and stakeholders

A traceable grievance mechanism, anonymous reporting included, alongside the tracking of your engagement activities.

  • Configurable handling steps, with deadlines and owners
  • Fully anonymous reporting and mobile intake
  • Attendance registers signed by QR code

Risks and mitigation measures

From the risk assessment carried over from the ESIA to field verification of ESMP measures.

  • Assessment per activity, against your donors' standards
  • Residual impact and costed mitigation measures
  • Field controls verified by mobile mission

Resettlement and census

RAP implementation, from the census of affected people through to payments and post-resettlement monitoring.

  • Affected people, assets, crops and compensation matrix
  • Livelihood restoration programmes
  • Payment steps and vulnerability tracking

Health, safety and compliance

The statutory registers of construction and operations, and the handling of findings through to closure.

  • Injuries, incidents, near misses, occupational diseases
  • Graded non-conformities, with assessment and follow-up
  • Waste and chance finds

Forests and environmental monitoring

Management of reforestation contracts and satellite detection of deforestation across your footprints.

  • Contracts, beneficiaries, KYC and payment cycles
  • Work acceptance missions
  • Deforestation alerts and dated imagery

Steering, reporting and training

Dashboards, periodic reports and building your teams' capability.

  • Computed indicators and dashboards
  • Report templates and indicator library
  • Training with verifiable certificates

Technology

Three technical choices that change the daily work

These are not bolt-on options — they sit at the core of the platform.

A native GIS, not a basemap

The database itself is spatial: almost every record — project footprint, plot, sensitive area, affected person, incident — carries its geometry. Layers are published and served via a tile cache, and password-protected external map sources are relayed server-side so credentials never reach the browser.

  • Hierarchical administrative divisions
  • Layer publication and symbol editing
  • Export to standard GIS formats
  • Authenticated external map sources

Field collection that works without a network

SIGES does more than import mobile data: the platform generates and publishes the forms for each process itself, enrols field agents by QR code, then retrieves submissions as soon as connectivity returns. Photos are compressed on sync, and outlying values pass through review before being accepted.

  • Forms generated for grievances, controls, census, work acceptance
  • Field agents enrolled by QR code
  • Fully operational offline
  • Outlier review before data is accepted

Satellite monitoring inside the project file

Imagery and alerts do not live in a separate tool: they are computed over your project footprints and consulted in the same place as the rest of the file, which lets you test an alert against a declared activity.

  • Dated satellite imagery
  • Forest cover loss alerts
  • Active fire alerts
  • Baseline land cover

Who it is for

Built around your role

The same data, with views and permissions matched to each party on the project.

Project implementation unit

You answer to the donor for ESMP implementation, with teams spread across sites.

  • A single register of measures, with progress status and field evidence
  • Templated reports whose indicators compute themselves
  • Offline mobile collection that feeds the same project file

Project owner

You carry the environmental, social and reputational risk of several projects at once.

  • A programme, strategy, project and subproject hierarchy
  • Closure-rate and delay indicators on grievances and non-conformities
  • A timestamped history and a versioned document library

Environmental and social consultant

You work for several project owners, with different frameworks and deliverables.

  • Excel imports for census and survey data
  • Donor standards configurable per installation
  • Report templates reusable from one assignment to the next

Donor and supervision mission

You need to verify what the project reports, both on paper and on site.

  • Data captured at source, timestamped and geolocated
  • An activity log on sensitive records
  • Photographed, positioned field controls that can be tested against satellite imagery

Standards aligned with your financiers' requirements

SIGES assumes no single framework: each installation loads the set of standards its donors require, and risk assessments are mapped against them.

  • World Bank
  • IFC
  • African Development Bank
  • European Union
  • Inter-American Development Bank

The names shown refer to the frameworks our clients configure in the platform. They imply no partnership, endorsement or certification by those institutions.

Data sovereignty

A dedicated installation, a dedicated database

Unlike shared-tenancy platforms, every SIGES client runs its own installation with its own database. No data is shared between organisations, your data stays exportable at any time, and modules are licensed individually.

  • Complete isolation

No shared column, no shared schema: one database per client, full stop.

  • Your data stays accessible

Open exports at any time, in standard formats: nothing locks you into the platform.

  • Modular licensing

Enable the modules your project portfolio actually needs, and nothing else.
